Chris Denem
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in a suburb of the city, Penn Hills.
His father Ralph Scherder, an accomplished classical pianist and graduate of Duquesne University, provided a solid influence and inspiration towards Chris' love for music and song.
His mother a country music fan, also played a key role forming Chris' musical roots. What do you get when you mix classical with country? Rock/country/blues = the songs and style of Chris Denem.
Latest Album: "Angel In Rain"
The six song album was released independently in early fall of '07 and has received excellent reviews. Track # 3 "There You Have It" reached # 11 on independent radio charts covering 100 stations in the US and abroad according to a NY music pollster. Frank and Patty Fara of "Comstock Records" in Arizona are doing an excellent job getting Chris Denem music to the world!
NBT records of Berkeley Springs, West, Virginia have signed track #6 "Ferris Wheel" for another release on their "Ride The Train" Series. The record will go worldwide!!
A German publication called "Country-MAG. DE gave Chris and his music an excellent overview in November '07.
"Chris Denem is an artists artist, one whose genre is very hard to classify. His music is a mixture of rock, country, a little folk, mainstream, and in every case it is handmade. Some are very powerful, like the opener "Lucinda", and the calmer "The Other World". A rather modern, strong music."
Thank you independent radio for playing the music!
Special thanks to WAGS FM in South Carolina!
